Practising your Welsh should be fun, and what better way to add new words to your vocabulary than by playing an interactive fiction game where you choose what happens next!
Rhiannon just wants to get an ice-cream at Barry Island with her aunt Fflur, but her journey won’t be easy. Can you guide her there successfully?
Each screen gives you a description of what’s happening and a choice to make, eg will Rhiannon go to Barry Island by train or by car? But what happens when things go wrong and she has find an alternative route to Barry? There’s only one path that will see Rhiannon get her ice-cream and many false paths that lead to… well, you’ll find out!

Click on the links at the bottom of each passage to make your choice. If you want to backtrack you can use the big curvy back arrows on the left, and if you change your mind there will be a forward arrow too.
The Welsh version has been written for intermediate and advanced learners, and if you want to learn some new vocab — some 150 words that you might not already know — then you can subscribe to Ymestyn. There, you’ll be able to work through a series of exercises that will help you memorise these new words so that when you see them within the game, you won’t have to look them up.
